Time will tell.<br \/>\nEither way, it was a fascinating and truly unique experience.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bots Incoming from All Directions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The first thing the Marquis Intelligence team noticed during a routine Google Analytics check was real-time visitors from New York and San Francisco \u2014 on the Serbian version of the site. Then, another visitor appeared from Clifton. Interesting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first, I thought they were people from the Serbian diaspora. It\u2019s not unusual for us to have visitors from around the world. But when the number of users from Clifton suddenly grew to seven, I realized something unusual was happening,\u201d explained Gordana Blagic, one of the site administrators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis sparked my curiosity, so I continued to watch closely. Soon, besides the usual visitors from the region, new ones started showing up from Santa Clara,\u201d Gordana added. \u201cSince my main role focuses on air purification and ventilation systems, not website analytics, I took a screenshot and asked ChatGPT what could be happening.\u201d The answer was clear &#8211; bots.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>AI Explains Who the Bots Really Are<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5.com\/glossary\/bots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bots<\/a> are automated systems used by Google (and other search engines) to review, analyze, and assess website content. Their job isn\u2019t to \u201cvisit\u201d a site like a human user, but to systematically scan and evaluate its technical and content quality.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clifton (New Jersey) and Santa Clara (California) are among Google\u2019s key infrastructure hubs.<br \/>\nWhen bots originate from these locations, it typically indicates that deeper content analysis is underway, such as reindexing, algorithm testing, or technical verification.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike standard crawlers that skim a site in seconds, these bots stay longer and appear in larger numbers &#8211; signaling a deeper review.<\/li>\n<li>When bots appear from multiple continents (e.g., Belgium, Ireland, China), it indicates that Google is distributing site data across its global network nodes. This can mean a global index update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In other words, if dozens of bots visit a website from various parts of the world in a short time, it usually means a <strong>Google re-evaluation of the entire site<\/strong>, not just a single page.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bot Numbers Keep Rising<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Over time, the number of visits identified by AI as bots continued to increase. At one point, 23 simultaneous visits came from Clifton and Santa Clara. At the same time, the site also received regular, expected traffic &#8211; especially after a new blog post was promoted on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<p>Although AI predicted that such a process usually lasts less than an hour for a smaller local website, this time it didn\u2019t stop so quickly.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>24 Hours of Chaos on the Site \u2013 Google Re-evaluation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Bots entered and left the site in waves, as if the algorithms were looking at everything from every possible angle. Within just 24 hours, over 1,500 site visits were recorded \u2014 far above the usual number.<\/p>\n<p>The most prominent IP addresses originated from Santa Clara and Clifton, both recognized as Google testing centers. There were also signals from Ireland, Belgium, Austria, China, and Singapore \u2014 a rare mix, especially for sessions lasting only a few seconds. That clearly pointed to automated activity.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>All That, Alongside Regular Visitors<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, organic visitors kept coming from four continents. Users from Serbia spent an average of over 10 minutes on the site. Visitors from Brazil spent more than 5 minutes. Others from Germany, Belgium, and Australia stayed several minutes. Those were regular visits to the Marquis Intelligence website.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the total traffic exceeded expectations, suggesting deep interest in the content. Such attention was likely one of the key signals.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Content That Makes Marquis Intelligence Stand Out<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Marquis Intelligence entered the digital world under the guidance of <strong>Dragan Varagic<\/strong>, one of the region\u2019s leading experts in digital transformation. It\u2019s no wonder the website quickly stood out. Knowledge and experience make all the difference!<\/p>\n<p>Just over three years ago, the company added a blog section. That is a space for new perspectives on ventilation and air quality. The mentioned bots flooded the digital space.<\/p>\n<p>What Could Have Triggered It?<br \/>\nIn recent months, the technical team completed full SEO optimization of the Serbian website version. They also added new layers of optimization and improved the site structure, making it more complex and interconnected.<\/p>\n<p>After celebrating three years of the blog, activity intensified. Six new blog posts were published in September. Internal linking and connections with external publications were also strengthened. Social media activity continued at its regular pace.<\/p>\n<p>All that combined could have sent a strong signal. Powerful enough to trigger a possible <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/blog\/2020\/05\/evaluating-page-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google re-evaluation<\/a>. While such processes usually last 15 to 45 minutes, this one lasted more than 20 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Why It May Have Taken Longer<br \/>\nWhen a review lasts longer, it often means the content is vibrant and layered. The Marquis Intelligence website doesn\u2019t feature generic texts.
